Moss and pom poms!

I have a moss fetish!

I have been collecting luscious thick clumps of moss, from our dry stone walls. And the bigger the clumps that I managed to peel away, the more excited I became, sad but true. When I found an acorn wedged between the stones, long forgotten by the squirrel, well it nearly tipped me over the edge.

But I'd had and idea, and I couldn't wait to get started.

Whilst drinking tea and scoffing digestives I pinned my lovely thick moss to a polystyrene egg.

Popped it in my thrifty goblet,

and had a rummage for some pink pom poms that I knew I had stashed away somewhere.

There's a ta dah moment on it's way.

Ta Dah! My three little mossy pom pom thingies. Oh I just love em.

Now shall I clump them together? Or stand them in a line?

Lace doily - or not? Many more hours of tweaking and admiring are required I think.

But for now I'll just leave them sunbathing on the kitchen table.

Have a wonderful weekend x

*** A few people asked me about the shrinkies on my last post. It's called frosted shrinkies available from the craft shop a pack of 6 sheets is £5.99. If you have a look on flikr there is a shrinkies club showing lots of ideas. ***x

So pretty and easy to do! Too bad I have no real moss - will have to find the artificial. Happy weekend!

I am another moss fan, and really like the look of your tah dah moment! The combinations works perfectly.

Bet that this idea will lead to some more. xo

I adore moss too! So lucky, given that a large patch of our 'lawn' is in fact moss...

We always make Easter gardens with it, and now you have given me even more ideas! Do you think that mossy nests for coloured eggs would also look cute?

Oooh what a good idea, my dogly collects moss so it will now be collected nicely (instead of trying frantically to grab it before he shakes it all over my kitchen) These look very pretty, clever you x

I have a moss fettish too I love your idea. Maybe if you pinned it to wet florist's foam it may last longer.

Hi Bertie! Do you know how long it takes to scroll back through your entire blog? Exactly 45 minutes - looking at pics and stopping to read every so often...45 minutes of fun, relaxation, inspiration!! I use to check in quite frequently, then my computer died, along with my blog list, and I just found you again! For me, it was like running into an old friend - I have missed you! But you were never really gone from my life because I make your "own scones" almost weekly - but I could never remember your blog address!! Oh well, now I've found you again, and I've already spent all of my laundry time reading your blog - darn it! So I must get back to it! So glad to read you are alive and well and still as creative and fun as ever! xo, Nan PS: We have TONS of moss here in Seattle so I'm going to have to get going on my own moss "tah-dahs!"

what a lovely idea and the moss is just gorgeous. I was looking for some moss at the weekend to make a terrarium but could only find a tiny bit. I should have come down your way .

Too, tooooo sweet! This has made me feel wonderfully light and happy - simple pleasures! Especially the light streaming through your windows! =]

Bertie, would you please, please, pretty please do me a favor and just "copy" the link below and go to it? It should just take you simply to a picture of something similar that I did for a tea table, last year. It's that girly-ooo-I want-to-share thing. =D Do you mind???
