Fresh eggs

Our lovely ladies have started laying. They are now beautiful hens. Such a pretty collection of eggs.

They haven't quite got the hang of using the nesting box yet. All manor of objects have been used so far, including my daughters dolls pram. But it's so much fun to go hunting for eggs everyday. Though I may change my mind when the weather takes a turn.

This egg was laid right before my eyes as I was washing up. You can't get any fresher than that!

So to honour these first offerings I made a family favourite. My scrumptious lemon drizzle cake.

With obligatory sprinkles of course. It was delicious.

The lovely Sumea  has sent me a  little something too.

One of her cute little birdies. Thank you Sumea x.

Lovely pictures as always. I think you may have to help your hens with the nest box before it gets out of hand!

It's lovely isn't it the great egg hunt everyday. We seem to be both doing the same thing at the same time. Our chickens are laying everywhere and at anytime too.

Your cake looks dreamy, I've not yet turned any of ours into a cake, but we had a lovely veggie ommlette last night. Eggs just one day old how fresh can you get!!

I bet that's the tastiest lemon drizzle cake ever. I'd love some hens, next move with any luck. My best friend has just had three so fingers crossed the odd spare egg may find its way here.

Such a pretty idea with the sprinkles - oh dear, hungry again!

Have a lovely week.
