September is the new January

September is the new January

It's hard not to get excited about September and the beginning of my favourite season. It's as good a time as any to return to this neglected space, and share simple things. I have missed blogging and taking photographs, and recording moments that would otherwise fade in memory.I'm looking forward to capturing this beautiful time of year.

I shall be enjoying the last throws of my wild flower bed,

and picking our first ever sweetcorn harvest.

Gathering sloes,

and turning them into Christmas tipple.

There'll be conkers,

rosehips,

and sunflowers aplenty

as I put them to use, and slowly decorate our home for Autumn.

A fresh new season and a new canvas to play with,
can't wait.

Hello from New York. It's grand to see this post from you with its wonderful seasonal photographs and reports of what you've been creating.

I also like the idea of September being the beginning of a year.

My daughter has always thought of September as a new beginning and I'm starting to see why! Your pictures are lovely, so warm and inviting. What recipe do you use for your slide gin?
