Autumn decor

Happy October to you. I thought I'd share some more of my Autumn decor with you. As this is by far my favourite season I've loved bringing a little bit of the outdoors inside.

My son gathered these conkers for me.

And I've dotted them around the house.

Added my fall garland to the fireplace, and some warm plum blankets on the chairs.

I dried these oranges and apples a few years ago, and found them lurking in a cupboard.

They are perfect for stringing up in the kitchen.

I just added some ripped fabric,

and she's all done.

I glued my pine cones in a circle, and then did another layer, building up into a tower.

But it didn't quite work, and collapsed. Never mind, I think next time I'll use a proper base to make them more sturdy.

So I used salt dough stars instead.

I also made some little dough pumpkins,

I loved how they turned out, so I shall be making lots more this month.

I could do this all day,

September wreath

What a busy month September is turning out to be. I thought I'd better share my September wreath with you before the month passes by.

My wreath started out with a few simple rose hips glued on, but after an evening on Pintrest it looked rather sad in comparison to the beautiful creations out there. So an up do was needed.

A quick wonder round the garden with my secateurs, and I was beginning to gather some seasonal inspiration.

Now I just had to make it presentable.

I began to gently fold in the most flexible pieces, and slowly layer it up.

I then added these beautiful rusty coloured dried leaves,

and finished with these gorgeous berries.

As flower arranging isn't my forte, I'm quite pleased with how she's turned out.

And I've proudly hung her on the front door.

September is the new January

September is the new January

It's hard not to get excited about September and the beginning of my favourite season. It's as good a time as any to return to this neglected space, and share simple things. I have missed blogging and taking photographs, and recording moments that would otherwise fade in memory.I'm looking forward to capturing this beautiful time of year.

I shall be enjoying the last throws of my wild flower bed,

and picking our first ever sweetcorn harvest.

Gathering sloes,

and turning them into Christmas tipple.

There'll be conkers,

rosehips,

and sunflowers aplenty

as I put them to use, and slowly decorate our home for Autumn.

A fresh new season and a new canvas to play with,
can't wait.
